열왕기상 6:1-10
(1 Kings 6:1-10)
1 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 나온 지 사백팔십 년이요
솔로몬이 이스라엘 왕이 된 지 사 년 시브월 곧 둘째 달에
솔로몬이 여호와를 위하여 성전 건축하기를 시작하였더라
2 솔로몬 왕이 여호와를 위하여 건축한 성전은
길이가 육십 규빗이요
너비가 이십 규빗이요 높이가 삼십 규빗이며
3 성전의 성소 앞 주랑의 길이는 성전의 너비와 같이
이십 규빗이요
그 너비는 성전 앞에서부터 십 규빗이며
4 성전을 위하여 창틀 있는 붙박이 창문을 내고
5 또 성전의 벽 곧 성소와 지성소의 벽에 연접하여 돌아가며
다락들을 건축하되 다락마다 돌아가며
골방들을 만들었으니
6 하층 다락의 너비는 다섯 규빗이요
중층 다락의 너비는 여섯 규빗이요
셋째 층 다락의 너비는 일곱 규빗이라
성전의 벽 바깥으로 돌아가며 턱을 내어
골방 들보들로 성전의 벽에 박히지 아니하게 하였으며
7 이 성전은 건축할 때에 돌을
그 뜨는 곳에서 다듬고 가져다가 건축하였으므로
건축하는 동안에 성전 속에서는
방망이나 도끼나
모든 철 연장 소리가 들리지 아니하였으며
8 중층 골방의 문은 성전 오른쪽에 있는데
나사 모양 층계로 말미암아 하층에서 중층에 오르고
중층에서 셋째 층에 오르게 하였더라
9 성전의 건축을 마치니라
그 성전은 백향목 서까래와 널판으로 덮었고
10 또 온 성전으로 돌아가며
높이가 다섯 규빗 되는 다락방을 건축하되
백향목 들보로 성전에 연접하게 하였더라
1 Solomon's workers started building the temple during Ziv,
the second month of the year.
It had been four years since Solomon became king of Israel,
and four hundred eighty years since the people of Israel left Egypt.
2 The inside of the LORD's temple was ninety feet long,
thirty feet wide,
and forty-five feet high.
3 A fifteen-foot porch went all the way across the front of the temple.
4 The windows were narrow on the outside but wide on the inside.
5-6 Along the sides and back of the temple,
there were three levels of storage rooms.
The rooms on the bottom level were seven
and a half feet wide,
the rooms on the middle level were nine feet wide,
and those on the top level were ten and a half feet wide.
There were ledges on the outside of
the temple that supported the beams of the storage rooms,
so that nothing was built into the temple walls.
7 Solomon did not want the noise of hammers
and axes to be heard at the place where the temple was being built.
So he had the workers shape the blocks of stone at the quarry.
8 The entrance to the bottom storage rooms was on the south side of the building,
and stairs to the other rooms were also there.
9 The roof of the temple was made out of beams and cedar boards.
The workers finished building the outside of the temple.
10 Storage rooms seven
and a half feet high were all around the temple,
and they were attached to the temple by cedar beams.
